1. Who is responsible for your data
Roos Research is operated by Roonie & Schmidt Investments (South Africa), the party responsible for personal information processed through the service. Contact us at divan@roonieschmidt.com for any privacy question or request.
2. Information we collect
- Account information. When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and a unique account identifier from Google.
- Usage information. We record how many AI actions you've used in the current period so we can enforce your plan's limits, along with basic activity such as when you last signed in.
- Subscription information. If you subscribe to a paid plan, our payment provider gives us subscription and customer reference codes, your plan, and your billing period so we can manage your subscription.
- Research requests. The tickers and analysis requests you make are sent to our AI provider to generate commentary.
We do not collect or store your full payment-card details. Card information is entered directly with our payment provider (see below).
3. How we use your information
- to create and secure your account and sign you in;
- to provide the research features, generate AI commentary, and enforce your plan's monthly limits;
- to process subscriptions, renewals, and cancellations;
- to respond to your support requests and communicate important service notices; and
- to protect the service against abuse, fraud, and technical faults, and to comply with our legal obligations.
4. Service providers we rely on
We use a small number of trusted providers to run Roos Research. Each processes only the data needed for its role:
- Google Firebase — sign-in (authentication) and our database of accounts, plans, and usage counters.
- Google Cloud — hosting the application.
- Anthropic (Claude) — generating the AI-written analysis from computed market data.
- Paystack — processing subscription payments. Paystack handles your card details securely under its own privacy terms; we never receive your full card number.
- Market-data providers — supplying the quotes and price history the app displays.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.
5. How long we keep it
We keep your account and usage information for as long as your account is active. If you close your account, we delete or anonymise your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we're required to keep certain records (for example, billing records) to meet legal obligations.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights — including closing your account and deleting your data — email divan@roonieschmidt.com and we'll help.
7. Security & international transfers
Access to your data is protected by industry-standard measures provided by Google Cloud and Firebase, and payment security is handled by Paystack. Because some of our providers operate outside South Africa, your information may be processed in other countries; we rely on those providers' safeguards to protect it.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We'll update the "last updated" date above and, for material changes, take reasonable steps to notify you.
