1. Who we are
Roos Research ("Roos Research", "we", "us", "our") is an educational market-research service operated by Roonie & Schmidt Investments, based in South Africa. The service is available at roosresearch.com and the application at app.roosresearch.com. You can reach us at divan@roonieschmidt.com.
2. What Roos Research is — and is not
Roos Research is a research and educational tool. It computes market statistics and technical indicators in code and uses artificial intelligence to interpret those numbers in plain language.
We are not a licensed financial services provider, broker, or advisor. Nothing in the service should be relied upon as advice. Markets carry risk, and past performance is not a guide to future results. Any decision you make is your own — always do your own research and, where appropriate, consult a licensed professional.
3. Accounts
- You must sign in with a valid Google account to use the service. You are responsible for the activity that occurs under your account and for keeping your sign-in secure.
- You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to create an account.
- You agree to provide accurate information and to use the service only for lawful purposes.
4. Plans, usage limits & payment
- Roos Research offers a free plan and paid monthly subscription plans. Current plans and prices are on our Pricing page.
- Each plan includes a monthly allowance of AI actions — each AI-written analysis you request uses one action. Once you reach your allowance, AI analysis is paused until your allowance resets at the start of the next calendar month or you upgrade.
- Paid plans are billed monthly in advance and renew automatically until cancelled. Payments are processed by our payment provider, Paystack.
- Cancellation and refunds are covered by our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
- We may change plans, limits, or prices. If we change the price of a plan you're subscribed to, we'll give you reasonable notice, and the change will take effect at your next renewal.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit the service or its output without our written permission;
- use bots, scrapers, or other automated means to access the service or to exceed your plan's limits;
- attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorised access to the service or its infrastructure; or
- use the service in any way that is unlawful, or that infringes the rights of others.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms or that appear to be abusing the service.
6. Market data & third parties
Market data is sourced from third-party providers and may be delayed, incomplete, or inaccurate. AI commentary is generated by a third-party AI model based on that data. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any data or commentary, and we are not liable for decisions made in reliance on them.
7. Intellectual property
The Roos Research name, logo, site, and software are owned by Roonie & Schmidt Investments. You may use the output of the service for your own personal research. We retain all rights not expressly granted to you.
8. Disclaimers & limitation of liability
The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Roonie & Schmidt Investments will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss, or for any trading or investment losses, arising from your use of — or inability to use — the service. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the event giving rise to the claim.
9. Suspension & termination
You may stop using the service and close your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the service. On termination, your right to use the service ends; sections that by their nature should survive (such as disclaimers and limitation of liability) will continue to apply.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "last updated" date above and, for material changes, take reasonable steps to let you know. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
